Submission Instructions

Submitted papers must be between 8 and 12 pages long, written in English, typeset in LaTeX, and formatted in the LNCS Springer style. Please download the LNCS package (zip, 219 Kb) for LaTeX and the instruction file (pdf, 160 Kb) directly from Springer web site. Authors are expected to use the default font and font size of the LNCS LaTeX style. Papers that do not respect these guidelines will be rejected.

By March 7 24:00 UTC+1, authors are expected to submit their manuscript in PDF format.

All submitted papers will be peer reviewed on the basis of technical quality, relevance, significance, and clarity. If a submission is not accepted as a full length paper, it may still be accepted either as a short paper or as an extended abstract. In such cases the authors will be asked to reduce the length of the submitted paper accordingly. The authors of all accepted papers will be asked to improve their papers on the basis of reviewers' comments.

Authors will be notified of whether or not their paper has been accepted by April 30.

By May 14, authors of the accepted papers are expected to provide the camera-ready copy in PDF format, and all source files—i.e. LaTex file(s), figures and references—needed for obtaining the final version of their paper. Papers that do not comply with all requirements might fail to be included in the conference proceedings.

By submitting a camera-ready paper, the author(s) agree that at least one author will attend and present the paper at the conference.

Camera ready submission and registration instructions

If you have a contribution accepted for presentation at ANTS 2010 and for inclusion in the conference proceedings, please read carefully the following instructions.

Number of pages

Full-length papers have been allotted 12 pages in the proceedings; short papers, 8 pages; and extended abstracts, 2 pages.

Submission and registration deadline

By May 14, the camera-ready copy must be submitted and for every paper at least one author must have registered for the ANTS 2010 conference.

Preparing the camera-ready copy

Please take into account the comments contained in the reviews of your paper when preparing the camera-ready copy of your contribution.

Please format your contribution following the instruction given on the ANTS 2010 web site (http://iridia.ulb.ac.be/ants2010/submission.php)

Only contributions typeset in LaTeX will be included in the ANTS 2010 proceedings. Please download the package llncs2e.zip from Springer (ftp://ftp.springer.de/pub/tex/latex/llncs/latex2e/llncs2e.zip) and format your contribution using the LaTeX class "llncs" included therein. References must be formatted using the BibTeX style "splncs" which is included in llncs2e.zip, too. References must follow the Number-Only system. Please refer to the class documentation included in the package.

Please do not alter in any way the parameters defined by the llncs class. In particular, do not change font family, font size, interline distance, and margin width. Original Springer's class/style files should not be manipulated. Do not include the llncs class among the file you submit. Your paper will be recompiled by Springer using the original llncs class: If you make any modification to this file, the paper will not compile correctly. In this case, your paper will fail to be included in the proceedings.

Concerning the name of authors given in the latex field \author{}, please provide the full first name and not just the initial. Do not include the academic title, e.g.: Prof. or Dr.

Please provide the following information for all authors at the beginning of the contribution: department, faculty, university, company (as applicable), city, country and email address. (Do not include street address and ZIP code: This is not supposed to be the full postal address).

To allow you to include this information the llncs class provides the command \institute. To add email addresses, use the command \email within the \institute command. Example:

\institute{SomeLab, University of Somecity, Somecity, Somecountry \email{mymail@somelab.somecity-university.edu}}

After the \institute command please include an \index entry for each of the authors. Example:

\index{Last_name_of_author1, First_name_of_author1}
\index{Last_name_of_author2, First_name_of_author2}
\index{Last_name_of_author3, First_name_of_author3}

For further details, please refer to the documentation of the llncs class.

Acknowledgements, if any, should be given in a final subsubsection at the end of the paper, just before the list of references. Please use the following command:

\subsubsection*{Acknowledgments. }

Please do not provide acknowledgments in a footnote to the title or to the author's name.

A contribution accepted as an "Extended abstract" must not contain an abstract: after the \maketitle command, the body of the paper should start immediately.

By May 14, you must upload the final version of your contribution to the ANTS 2010 on-line conference system: http://senldogo0039.springer-sbm.com/ANTS2010/servlet/Conference

In particular, you should upload a compressed archive, either in the zip or tgz format, containing:

  1. the camera-ready copy in PDF format (.pdf)
  2. the final LaTeX file (.tex)
  3. all figures (if you have any)
  4. the BibTeX file (.bib)

The camera-ready copy of your contribution (including references) must not exceed the allotted number of pages. Please notice that contributions that do not comply with all above requirements cannot be included in the ANTS 2010 proceedings.

Copyright form

You must fill in and sign the Springer's copyright form (http://iridia.ulb.ac.be/ants2010/lncs/copyright.pdf). The form should be emailed to ants@iridia.ulb.ac.be or faxed to +32 2 650 2715

Please notice that the copyright form must be at the conference organization offices by May 14, otherwise the contribution cannot be included in the ANTS 2010 proceedings.

Register for the conference

At least one author per contribution must attend the conference and present the article. Please register by May 14 by sending an email to ants@iridia.ulb.ac.be with the subject: "ANTS 2010: Registration".

The email should contain the following information:

First name: [Participant's first name]
Middle initial(s): [Middle initial(s)]
Last name: [Participant's family name]
Affiliation: [University or company name]
Country: [Country]
Email: [Participant's email address]

All accepted papers must be presented at ANTS 2010 and at least one author for each paper must be registered by May 14. These conditions are a prerequisite for publication in the proceedings.

Presentation at the conference

Due to the large number of high quality submissions and in order to maximize the interactions between researchers and therefore the impact of the accepted papers, ANTS 2010 will consist of a number of poster sessions. All papers (full-length papers, short papers and extended abstracts) will be presented as posters. A few of the full-length papers will also be orally presented. All the others will be introduced by a highlight presentation. Further instruction and the list of the papers that will be presented orally will be communicated presently.
