I have completed my PhD at IRIDIA, Université Libre de Bruxelles, under the supervision of Prof. Marco Dorigo. My co-promotor was Dr. Elio Tuci.

I am currently a Scientific Officer with the European Research Council.

I have been till recently a research fellow in Artificial Intelligence with the Advanced Concepts Team of the European Space Agency.

I have worked on the SWARM-BOTS Project, aimed to study new approaches to the design and implementation of self-organizing and self-assembling artifacts.
I have worked on the ECAgents Project, whose aim was to develop new artefacts-embodied and communicating agents, by studying the evolution and emergence of communication and language.
I am also participating in the Swarmanoid Project, , whose scientific objective is the design, implementation and control of a novel distributed robotic system, made up of heterogeneous, dynamically connected, small autonomous robots, that act in a 3D space as an office-like environment.
