I am a Ph.D student at IRIDIA (Artificial Intelligence Lab), Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium under the supervision of Prof. Marco Dorigo since the 1st of May 2011.
My research interests are swarm robotics, social learning, collective decision making and path planning.

I am currently involved in the European Project E-SWARM - Engineering Swarm Intelligence Systems.

Before joining IRIDIA, I did an internship at IDSIA (Dalle Molle Institute for Artificial Intelligence) in Lugano, Switzerland working on European Project (FP6) Swarmanoid (November 2009 - April 2011).

Previously, I have graduated with a first class honours Master of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano - Department of Electronics and Information, Milan, Italy. My Master thesis project is "Swarms of flying robots performing distributed path planning for objects on the ground", this work has been done, thanks to a Swiss scholarship (Zeno Karl Schindler Foundation), at IDSIA and has been supervised by Prof. Marco Colombetti, Prof. Luca Gambardella and Dr. Gianni Di Caro.

Previously I worked for 1 year on another EU Project: PHAROS (Platform for searcHing of Audiovisual Resources across Online Spaces). A part of the work was conducted in Milano (Italy) at WebModels srl, and the rest at Microsoft (Fast Search & Transfer) in Oslo, Norway, thanks to a European scholarship.
In May of 2008, I received my Bachelor's degree (106/110) in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano - Department of Electronics and Information - Como campus - Italy.
Como is my hometown, which is situated in the North of Italy.
